that this conversation is happening throughout campus from a variety of directions.

wanted to let you know that on Thursday, February 12, we will be hosting an on campus demo of Event Management Systems and will be asking them to share their Master Calendar module as part of that demo. This reservation system may offer more flexibility with
calendaring that our current system does, including a direct link between the Campus Labs product, Portfolio, and the reservation system.

<span style="color:black">over the last three years </span>encouraging a tie in to our current reservation system to create a master calendar for the University. In fact, the calendar was the end goal in moving to the online reservation system known as Reserve<span style="color:#1f497d">-</span>A<span style="color:#1f497d">-</span>Space,
powered by Collegent's 25 Live system in 2011. <span style="color:#1f497d"> </span>
The <span style="color:black">goal has always been to have </span>a campus wide reservation system that would produce a single entry system for campus wide reservations where events spaces could be confirmed, events could be entered and ultimately filtered
at the hands of the user to create<span style="color:#1f497d"> </span>customized calendar<span style="color:#1f497d">s</span>, including a university calendar managed by Public Affairs. <span style="color:#1f497d"></span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:'Franklin Gothic Book',sans-serif">We (IS&T, the Registrar's Office and DUC&EM) have succeeded to on-board many spaces on campus through this reservation system including the classroom scheduling,
the pooled classrooms for non-academic events, premier and standard spaces (DUC&EM), Res Life, engineering spaces, and a few other spaces but not the full campus community. <span style="color:#1f497d">
</span>Because this has been a <span style="color:black">stated student interest</span>, STAC has been involved in this initiative by experimenting with the data collected through the system. There are some limitations with the current system, including the
ability to customize the system for each space and also being able to filter the events with ease. Because of these obstacles, we are currently investigating another reservation system, EMS, which would give us more flexibility that would allow us to include
the Business School, Social Work, the Law School and Athletics. The Law School and Athletics, as well as a couple of instances in the Med School, are already using this system. </span></p>

</span>This would create efficiency by preventing the need for duplicative processes and also assist with the accuracy of the information entered. EMS may be this system, thus we have scheduled and on campus demo on February 12 to learn more about this opportunity.
All parties mentioned above will be invited to be involved in this demonstration. </span></p>
