Post-Doctoral Fellow in High Performance Computing/Visualization
(P98184)

A full-time Post-Doctoral Fellow position is available at the
University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) Computational
Research Center (CRC).

The CRC is exploring new idea to optimize efficient handling,
analysis, and visualization of massive datasets in order to
timely and better understand ever growing structured/unstructured
information.

The Post-Doctoral Fellow will be conducting research to advance
algorithm, programming paradigm, protocols, and/or architecture
for high performance computing (HPC) system and/or data
visualization.

In particular, the selected candidate will be exploring new
ideas to optimize efficient handling, analysis, and/or
visualization of massive datasets.

Possible research topics are:

* designing algorithms to improve the performance of Big-data
analysis;

* large-scale visualization and/or large-scale computing;

* investigating new programming paradigm for Big-data analysis
and/or large-scale visualization;

* developing mathematical modeling tools for complex scientific
problems;

* developing software to support Big-data analysis and/or
large-scale visualization;

* developing large scale visualization technologies.

The successful candidate will demonstrate technical competency,
a commitment to team research and quality, excellent
communication skills and the ability to work with other
researchers and students.

Minimum Qualifications:

Earned doctorate with dissertation research in an appropriate
field (such as Mathematics, Computer Engineering or Computer
Science) is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Research experience with a record of publications in one or more
related areas AND research experience in the following areas of
HPC is desired:

Big-data Analysis
Big-data Visualization
Data-intensive Computing
Data-centric Computing
I/O Optimization
Green Computing
Secure Computing

is preferred.
