Subject: The Boeing Company and GMiS Bring the VT Program to St. Louis!
Hello Dr.,
Great Minds in STEM and The Boeing Company are partnering up to bring the
Viva Technology program to Holman ES. Viva Technology is a pre-college
science and engineering outreach program of Great Minds in STEM. With the
help of college students from surrounding universities, we are able to
provide "near peer" role-models for the students who participate in the
program.
Your students are invited to participate as a college captain in the
upcoming Viva Technology Program for students of Holman Elementary School on
Friday, November 11, 2011. This is an opportunity for your students to work
with younger students and guide them through science and math related
hands-on activities. As a college captain, they will be awarded a $100
stipend for participating with us in the full day program. This is their
opportunity to give back to their community by sharing their college
experience and network with The Boeing Company professionals. The stipend
can be distributed individually or pooled together for a fundraiser.
The program will take place at Holman Elementary School on Friday, November
11, 2011from 7:00 a.m. to3:30 p.m. To sign up as a college captain, simply
reply have your students email me at hbarriere[a]greatmindsinstem.org with
their name, university, email address and telephone number. I will contact
them to confirm their participation.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. We look
forward to working with your students!
Regards,
