FYI, students considering graduating soon, here is a postdoc
opportunity at Berkeley:

=========================================================
Simons Postdoctoral Fellowship in Theoretical Computer Science
University of California, Berkeley

The Theory Group in Computer Science at UC Berkeley invites
applications for a post-doctoral position in theoretical computer
science. Applications are welcomed from all areas of theory,
including (but not restricted to) algorithms, complexity theory,
cryptography, combinatorics, algorithmic game theory, distributed
and parallel computing, combinatorial optimization, computational
geometry, computational biology, and quantum computing.

This is a two-year fellowship funded by the Simons Foundation,
starting in Fall 2012. The fellowship includes a generous salary,
plus ample funding for scientific travel.

Candidates must receive their PhD during the academic year
immediately preceding that in which the fellowship begins (i.e.,
2011-12). There are no other restrictions on eligibility.

Applications should include all of the following materials: a
curriculum vitae, a research statement, and a cover letter including
(expected) date of graduation and the names and email addresses
of at least three recommenders.

The Theory Group especially encourages applications from outstanding
women and minority applicants.

The closing date for applications is January 31, 2012. Applications
received after this date may not be given full consideration.

All application materials should be submitted electronically to
Michelle Tran at the following email address: smithsec at eecs.berkeley.edu.
Please include the phrase "Simons postdoc" and the candidate's name
in the subject line of all emails.

The University of California is an equal opportunity/affirmative action
employer.
