[Cloud_Announce] Correction: Cloud Upgrade: May 28th, 2013

[Engineering Cloud Cluster Announcement List]

Quick correction - the Cloud update will be Tuesday, May 28th, 2013 - that Monday is Memorial Day, a University holiday, and offices will be closed.

The actual upgrade will take a few hours, and the nodes will be placed back into the cluster after the update.

Service is expected to be restored by the end of the working day.

If this will impact a research deadline, please let me know and arrangements can be made.

Take note of the following changes!:


List of Changes (Not in effect until after the switch):

* Module software package system: See http://clusters.engineering.wustl.edu/index.php/Modules for information and instructions.

* The Parallel Environments mpi,mpich2_gnu, and openmpi are all subsumed under the PE "mpi-hydra".

* OpenMPI will be updated to 1.6.4

* MPICH will be updated to 3.0.3

* Comsol 3.5A and 4.0 will be removed (leaving 4.2 and 4.3A)

* /cluster/cloud/R will be removed, in favor of the R installed with the systems (2.15)
